Product Description

Born of a long-held desire to craft world class sparkling wines, the House of Arras is a true expression of its origin and maker – a marriage of exceptional cold climate Tasmanian vineyards and uncompromising sparkling winemaking techniques mastered over decades. The House of Arras truly represents the pinnacle of Australian sparkling wine.

WINEMAKING Blended from the classic sparkling grape varieties, impeccably grown in the premium viticultural regions of Tasmania, it was the select parcels of premium Tasmanian fruit that were hand picked and gently whole bunch pressed that ensured the remarkable brightness of character and structural elegance in this wine.

After fining, these individual batches were fermented on light grape solids and underwent malolactic fermentation on primary ferment lees. Once clarified, these individual base wines were judiciously blended to style and prepared for secondary fermentation in bottle. Extended maturation on yeast lees further built complexity and depth of character into the wine. The expedition dosage completes this traditional method wine, adding the last components of complexity and ensuring precise palate balance.

The wine shows great complexity from extended aging but exhibits a brightness and longevity truly representative of world class sparkling wine. Sealed with a high quality cork this wine will further evolve with continued maturation in a suitably cool and stable environment.

TASTING NOTE Crystal clear with an extremely fine bead and persistent mousse, the House of Arras Brut Elite is the delicate colour of fresh straw with a bright green/gold hue. On the nose, the wine has an unmistakably inviting and complex mélange of aromas with influences of fresh oyster, sour dough yeast as well as the aromas of exotic spices, vanilla bean and nougat.

The Brut Elite has a mineral and elegant palate structure with flavours evolving in the glass around lychee, truffle, cinnamon and lanolin. The natural acidity and subtle quality oak tannins are the backbone of this textural wine that exhibits fantastic persistence of flavour.
